How I love those high boots!
Tonight I was at FireBird Designs checking out some of the new releases for prices when I over heard two ladies talking about how they would love to wear thigh high boots but hated how the boots won't fit on the thighs. They went to complain how hard it was to find any mesh boots that would fit their avatars and how inconsiderate it is of designers to not make the alphas fit correctly. And I had to agree with them partially I do have trouble with is my thighs showing through my boots too. They noticed that I was short like them and asked how I managed to make my boots fit, as I wearing one of FireBird Design's newest designs "Black Lace Dress" that comes with thigh high boots.
What we short avatars seem to forget is that Designer's make their designs to fit the "average" avatar which have considerably longer thinner legs. So the Alpha layers sometimes cut off wrong on the thicker part of our thighs then it does on a taller thinner legged avatar (or at least this is what I surmises happens, I could be wrong...I am not a designer). There is no way a designer can create alpha layers to fit us all, so to get around this we need a higher alpha layer then what is normally included in with the outfits. Luckily I have a free solution for everyone to use when they need better alphas with their boots.
On marketplace you can find the Lindaline bootmasks complete collection by LindaB Helendale for FREE! This box of leg alpha layers lets you find the right mask for about any boot length. There are 37 masks, with 8 mm steps, for lengths below the knee, and 22 masks with step 16 mm for knee high and thigh boots. This allows me to replace the designer's alpha with one that fits my avatar and I get to wear those awesome boots!
