Innsmouth Sim
I thought I would share these haunting photos I took as I wandered the Innsmouth Sim. The Sim is a ode to the H.P. Lovecraft’s story, “Shadow Over Innsmouth”. It is a very haunting place to visit, very horror movie genre. I loved wandering the dark streets, half expecting something to pop out and get me. The town looks like just like I would expect if a gigantic creature form the bottom of the sea walked through it. Be sure to drop a small donation when you visit if you can. We need to help keep this one around.

From the card dispensed on sim:
Innsmouth is a sim designed to resemble an early 1900s "New England fishing village gone to hell." Patterned after the fictitious town created by horror and weird fiction author HP Lovecraft, the sim is true to the feel, and has features around its edges the reflect HP Lovecraft's other related story writings. "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" and other Lovecraft stories refer to this village and its dark, "fishy" denizens.

As far as Second Life is concerned, Innsmouth has been a premier non-mainland sim for all to visit and enjoy for many years. Thousands have visited the sim when seeing it on the Destination Guide, and many who never knew who HP Lovecraft was get their first exposure to "the Granddaddy of Modern Horror" when coming to the sim.

Elements of many of Lovecraft's works can be found around the sim, and the visual experience captivates all who come. Many return again and again, and count Innsmouth as an all-time favorite of Second Life.
The creator of Innsmouth, Darmin Darkes, has put her most creative talents into the sim, building almost all of what can be seen there. Along with her close friends and associations, the sim has been maintained as a longlasting tribute to Second Life artistic design, and to the longstanding passion for the works of the author HP Lovecraft.
Innsmouth serves many roles.... A tourist destination, a place for activities and events, a place for roleplay and interactive experience.
Innsmouth is a monument in Second Life. Innsmouth is a longstanding tribute to a classic writer of horror and weird fiction.
Innsmouth is Legend. Innsmouth must always be, as it embodies much of what Second Life is about.
